The big news in Cape lately has been the construction of the $125 million Cape Girardeau casino complex. Passing by the site on an almost daily basis, I have witnessed first-hand the swift construction progress so far – at one specific point in time I returned from grocery shopping only to discover a gas station that had stood just a couple hours before was no more. Talk about fast progress! I covered the groundbreaking ceremony for Isle of Capri, and out of curiosity I have also poked around the site myself. They are currently in the early demolition stages, flattening buildings and clearing way to reroute roads and begin construction. Hope to be shooting more of the development as the construction progresses!
