PHOTOS: Unconfirmed Tornado Ripped Through The Plains, Ohio on Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010

Kristin and I were driving back to Ohio from Missouri last night to attend a friend’s wedding when suddenly our phones started ringing off the hook. What we learned on the phone was shocking – an unconfirmed tornado ripped through The Plains, Ohio Thursday Sept. 16, 2010, causing downed power lines, uprooted trees, overturned mobile homes and significant damage to Athens High School. We arrived in The Plains around three in the morning and surveyed the town for damage, not seeing much in the dark. We woke up at 8 and photographed as community members and emergency workers surveyed the situation and begin cleanup in The Plains, Ohio.
