Kristin and I moved to Cape Girardeau last\u00a0February. Since then, we’ve explored Cape Girardeau, stumbling upon some great photographic locations and meeting some amazing people. Here’s a list of our top ten most photogenic places in Cape Girardeau County. Have we overlooked anywhere?<\/p>\n

10. Dennis Scivally Park.<\/strong> This neighborhood park features a rustic stone bridge that goes over the Walker Branch Creek.<\/p>\n

9. Cape Rock Park.<\/strong> The site where Cape Girardeau’s namesake, Jean Baptiste Girardot, established his trading post in 1873, this park offers a breathtaking view of the Mississippi River.<\/p>\n

8. Bollinger Mill.<\/strong> Located in Burfordville, an unincorporated community in western Cape Girardeau County, the mill and adjacent covered bridge pre-date the American Civil War.<\/p>\n

7. Historic Downtown Cape.<\/strong> The quaint red-bricked buildings of downtown Cape Girardeau invite you to explore the history the area has to offer.<\/p>\n

6. Capaha Park.<\/strong> You would never know Southeast Missouri Hospital is located directly across this oasis in the city.<\/p>\n

5. Southeast Missouri State University Campus.<\/strong> Once named Southeast Missouri State Normal School, the University, Founded in 1873, is currently home to over 10,000 students.<\/p>\n

4. Trail of Tears State Park.<\/strong> Honoring the Cherokees who died during the “Trail of Tears” march, this beautiful 3,415-acre park overlooks the Mississippi River.<\/p>\n

2. The Bill Emerson Memorial Bridge.<\/strong> Opened in 2003, this recent addition to the Cape cityscape is as functional as it is breathtaking.<\/p>\n

1. The Mississippi Riverwalk and Floodwall.<\/strong> The mighty Mississippi snakes around the heart of historic downtown Cape Girardeau. The\u00a0scenic\u00a0riverwalk and floodwall are the true icons of the city.<\/p>\n
