Welcome to the new and improved MacklerMedia!
For those of you who have followed us from the beginning, you know MacklerMedia as a freelance photojournalism company started by me (Kristin Eberts Mackler) and my husband–well, boyfriend at the time–Chris Mackler.
After getting hitched and moving from Missouri to Arlington, Virginia last year, we decided to revamp and rebrand MacklerMedia to focus more on wedding, portrait and lifestyle photography. I took the plunge and left my career in the newspaper industry in favor of pursuing the work of MacklerMedia full time. Chris, who currently works full-time as a photo editor, lovingly assists me in his free time. What a great husband!
I decided to get into wedding and portrait photography because I know these are images that families treasure. I get to document the most important parts of people’s lives, from engagements, to weddings, to growing families. Personally, I know just how much the photographs of my own engagement and wedding mean to me, and I am honored to now capture these beautiful moments for others.
But don’t worry, I am–and always will be–a photojournalist at heart. I still approach every shoot with a photojournalistic style. I use a candid approach to photography because I believe it is the best way to capture true emotion, moments, beauty, and most importantly, love.
